3260 26th Street is a prime example of repurposing property in San Francisco to allow for more housing, greater densities, fewer cars, and a more walkable city. The site, in a transitional Mission District neighborhood, currently houses a former auto repair business and is surrounded by wood-framed homes and multifamily apartments. 

Working closely with neighborhood advocates from Calle 24 Latino Cultural District and the San Francisco Planning Department, our design team has crafted a colorful and vibrant addition to the neighborhood that respects the local and Latino traditions of craftsmanship and attention to detail. The ground floor includes a corner retail space and many walk-up stoops to units, with planting providing a transition between the public sidewalk and the private homes within. The six-story building will use the State Density Bonus program to include 42 units of rental housing, seven of which will be below market-rate.
