White house advisor visits 36 Amber drive affordable housing
White House National Climate Advisor Ali Zaidi and his team visited 36 Amber Drive, our project with Habitat for Humanity Greater San Francisco, to see an example where the highest standards of sustainability are applied to the production of 100% affordable ownership housing. Kerman Morris Architects oriented the roofs on this eight-unit development to capture sunlight and worked closely with Habitat and GRID Alternatives to locate the roof top photovoltaics arrays. Other sustainable strategies effected on this project include super insulated walls, water saving fixtures, and all electric/highly efficient mechanical systems and appliances for zero carbon impact.
